AGE ELIGIBILITY as on 10th September 2023 for various races is:

The following criteria is mandatory for all participants for all races, except the 05km Run Ladakh for Fun. Entries for these categories will be screened and if you do not fulfil the requirement the organiser has the right to reject your application. It is imperative to arrive in Leh well in time and as recommended here
10.5km Run
Participant must have completed two 10km runs under 1 hour 30 mins in past three years prior to the race day.
Half Marathon
Participant who fulfils any one option listed below is eligible to register for this race.
- Finisher of 2022 Ladakh Marathon – 10.5km Run
- Finisher of EITHER one half marathon under 3 hours OR two 10 km runs under 1 hour 25 mins in past three years prior to the race day.
Marathon
Participant who fulfils any one option listed below is eligible to register for this race.
- Finisher of 2022 Ladakh Marathon – 21km
- Finisher of EITHER one full marathon OR two half marathons in past three years prior to the race day.
Khardung La Challenge
Participant who fulfils any one option listed below is eligible to APPLY for this race
- Finisher of 2022 Ladakh Marathon – 42km and 72km
- Finisher of two full marathon under 5 hours in past three years prior to the race day
- Finisher of two ultra marathon over 70km in past three years prior to the race day
- A full marathon under 5 hours and an ultra marathon over 70km in past three years prior to the race day
Application will be confirmed once documents submitted towards eligibility criteria have been verified within 5-7 working days, after which payment link will be shared. The organiser reserves the right to disallow / disqualify any participant who is known or suspected to be physically unfit to participate in this race.
Please note that the number of participants to this race is restricted to a maximum of 200 runners.
Silk Route Ultra
Participant who fulfils any one option listed below is eligible to APPLY for this race
- Finisher of Khardung La Challenge 2022
- Finisher of Khardung La Challenge of previous years but having either an ultra marathon (over 100km) certificate OR marathon certificate (under 5 hours) in past three years prior to the race day
- Finisher of two ultra marathons which are over 100km in past three years prior to the race day
- Finisher of a WTC Ironman race in past three years prior to the race day
Application will be confirmed once documents submitted towards eligibility criteria have been verified within 5-7 working days, after which payment link will be shared. The organiser reserves the right to disallow / disqualify any participant who is known or suspected to be physically unfit to participate in this race.
Please note that the number of participants to this race is restricted to a maximum of 50 runners.
Besides the above, the following nationalities cannot participate in the Khardung La Challenge and Silk Route Ultra as they are excluded from the restricted area permit which is required for Khardung La pass.
a) Citizens of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, Pakistan and foreign nationals having their origin in these countries
b) Diplomatic passport holders
