Ladakh Marathon is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This online Privacy Policy is used to inform visitors with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information through our Services.

The Personal Information that we collect are used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

“Services” means any of the services or website we own or operate including our social networking pages, profiles and feeds.

The term “Event” used herein is the Ladakh Marathon.

 

WHO WE ARE

Ladakh Marathon operates the LADAKH MARATHON website, which provides the SERVICEs of Sporting Event by title Ladakh Marathon. The Ladakh Marathon (hereby referred to as “we” or “us”) is an annual running event held in Leh, Ladakh during the month of September each year and provides runners, volunteers, and spectators with various opportunities to participate in six running disciplines held by us, namely:

  • Silk Route Ultra
  • Khardung la Challenge
  • Marathon
  • Half Marathon
  • 11.2 KM Run
  • 05 KM Run for Fun

 

Ladakh Marathon was founded in the year 2012 by Chewang Motup Goba, who is the co-founder of RIMO EXPEDITIONS, India’s foremost adventure travel company with its registered office at Hotel Kang-Lha-Chen Complex, Leh 194101, U.T. Ladakh.

Ladakh Marathon registered office is in Leh at Rimo Outdoor Centre, Khagshal, Gonpa Road, Leh - 194101, U.T. Ladakh.

WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY WE COLLECT IT

We understand the importance of the personal information we collect and handle them with utmost care. The personal information and/or data that we collect from applicants/participants in connection with organising the Ladakh Marathon will be always protected by us. Your personal information provided in the “Marathon Registration Application” form or “Contact” forms is used only for the purpose of communicating with you and as outlined below:

Type of Personal Information collected

The Ladakh Marathon will collect and process the following personal information.

  • a) When applying to participate in the Event

When applicants apply to participate in Event, we collect and process personal information of applicants (such as the applicants’ name, sex, date of birth, age, photo, address, telephone number, mobile number, email address, nationality, identity proof such as Aadhaar card or passport, blood group, dress size, meal preference, emergency contact name, telephone number, relationship of such emergency contact with the applicants; all of which are information provided to us by the applicants.

  • b) When selected applicants participate in the Event

When participants participate in the Event, we collect and process personal information including each participant’s face photo, footage, race results and intermediate race record, in addition to the personal information set forth above. In order to verify the identity of the participants, we collect and process participants’ face photos; and we collect and process surveillance footage of the course during the race (participants’ appearance may be recognized in such footage) for safety reasons.

  • c) When first aid or transfer to the hospital becomes necessary

Name and phone number of hotel where the participant is staying during the Event, currently treated conditions, current medication, allergies, name of injuries and diseases, symptoms, site of occurrence, the treatment received (if any) and any other necessary information will be collected and shared with the hospital which the participant is transferred to. In addition, if a participant is taken to the hospital, name of injuries and diseases, course of the symptoms, course of treatment, and current prescription will be obtained from such hospital in order to respond in the wake of an accident, including indemnity, examination and improvement of the places for distributing emergency staff, the number and places for distribution of emergency vehicles, and any other matters concerning safety for future Events.

  • d) You may also be asked to choose a user ID and password to identify yourself during future visits to the Website.

 

Purpose of use of Personal information

The Ladakh Marathon will process personal information to achieve the purposes notified or as set forth below.

  • To verify the identity of the participants;
  • To ensure safety control of the marathon course;
  • To deliver the Runner Handbook, results, and relevant information related to the Event to the participants;
  • To announce race results (including rankings);
  • To subscribe to insurance;
  • To provide medical care;
  • To provide support in the wake of an accident, including indemnity;
  • To hold and manage the Event; and
  • To compile statistics from the Event.

 

We do not ask for credit card information or payment transaction OTP. All our online payment process is through CC Avenue secure payment gateway.

 

WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH

The Ladakh Marathon may provide the personal information to third parties (including those located outside of India) to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose. Third parties can be any of the following:

  • Administrative agencies in U.T. Ladakh;
  • Service providers/Contractors of the Ladakh Marathon within the scope relevant to the management of the Event
  • Affiliates such as Abbott World Marathon Majors LLC located in the United States, operating the Abbott World Marathon Majors;
  • Media in case of announcing the information relating to race record via TV, newspaper, magazine, the internet etc.
  • In case of transferring the provided information regarding health or medical care to the hospital which the participant is taken to

 

LOG DATA

We want to inform you that whenever you visit our website (s), we collect information that your browser sends to us that is called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser version, pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

We collect limited information from participants of 03 (three) running disciplines for which age is less than 18 years. Information collected is name, date of birth, gender, phone number, photos, parents'/guardians’ name, and address. It is important to note that this data is solely utilised for communication purposes. We ensure that the collection is minimal, with the utmost consideration for the privacy and safety of children.

 

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, we advise you to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately, after they are posted on this page.
