Race Day Is:

  • Thursday, September 10, 2026 for the 122km Silk Route Ultra
  • Friday, September 11, 2026 for the 72km ultra Khardung La Challenge
  • Saturday, September 12, 2026 for the 05km Run for Fun
  • Sunday, September 13, 2026 for Marathon, Half Marathon, 11.2km Run

Transportation & Road Closure

Leh being a small town, starting point of all races except the two ultras, is within walking distance from the town centre approximately 2 to 3km. Participants of the two ultra races, Silk Route Ultra and Khardung La Challenge, have to report to the NDS Stadium a day prior to the race day (timings will be given closer to race day) and are transported to start point.

From 6 p.m. Thursday 10th to 5 p.m. Friday 11th September no vehicular movement is allowed across the Khardung la pass between Kyagar Village and Leh main market. On Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September 2026, there will be partial road closure of Leh town along the course of the Ladakh Marathon races to facilitate smooth running.

Baggage Deposit

Participants of Marathon, Half Marathon, 11.2Km Run and 05Km Run for Fun can deposit their belongings at baggage counters which will be located at the holding area inside the NDS Stadium. These can be collected back from the same counters in the holding area after the race. Please keep your drop bags labelled before-hand to avoid inconvenience at baggage drop counter. Participants are advised not to keep electronic gadgets or valuable items in their deposit/drop bags.

For the Ultra races – Silk Route Ultra and Khardung la Challenge – there will be places to layer off along the course of respective challenges, for which bags are to be deposited at the time of race briefing point at NDS Stadium in Leh. Please DO NOT hand over your layering on/off bags to mobile volunteers along the course of any race. Please DO NOT keep any valuables / electronic items in your deposit/drop bags.

Disclaimer

All information is required on the bags being deposited at the starting line for identification purposes. The event organiser will not be responsible for any loss and /or damages, personal or otherwise, to the belongings deposited. The event organiser reserves the right to check and reject any belongings deposited.

Participants Benefits

Participants will receive the following:

  • Ladakh Marathon T-Shirt
  • Running Bib and Timing chip (for timed races)
  • Participants who complete their respective race within the official cut-off time will get a Finisher medal at finish line and official race time with Finisher Certificate
  • Participants of Marathon who cross the finish line after the cut-off time and until road closure which is 1:15 p.m. will not have an official result listing and finisher certificate but will still receive a finisher medal. Please collect your medal from NDS Stadium grounds (by 1:30 p.m.) as no medal will be sent later through post mail or courier.
  • Participants of Half Marathon who cross finish line after the cut-off time and until 10:30 a.m. will not have an official result listing and finisher certificate but will still receive a finisher medal. Please collect your medal from NDS Stadium grounds (by 10:30 a.m.) as no medal will be sent later through post mail or courier.
  • Participants 11.2km Run who cross finish line after the cut-off time and until 9:00 a.m. will not have an official result listing and finisher certificate but will still receive a finisher medal. Please collect your medal from NDS Stadium grounds (by 9:00 a.m.) as no medal will be sent later through post mail or courier.
  • Refreshments, fruits and drinks (water and juices) are provided at finish point. Refreshments counter for participants of 21km and 11.2km will close at 11 a.m.  and for 42km it will close at 1:45 p.m.
  • A cultural extravaganza is organised for participants at finish point. There will be local folk dance and soulful music to wear off your tiredness of the race. We will make sure that you have a memorable evening with everlasting memories of the event.

Unclaimed Belongings

Participants can collect their belongings from the Marathon Hub after Race Day between 8.30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. until Friday, September 18, 2026, if not collected at the finish point on race day.

Medical & Volunteer Support

The event is organised with the support of the administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh, the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), the Indian Army 14 Corps, the Indian Air Force, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and numerous associations all of which contribute to the smooth conduct of the Ladakh Marathon.

Dropping Out

Should you need to drop out during the race, please notify a race official / volunteer who will assist you in getting to the finish area.

Finish Line, Distribution of Medals and Award Ceremony

The finish line for 05km Run for Fun, 11.2km Run, Half Marathon and Marathon is the N.D.S. Memorial Stadium grounds. The finish line for the Silk Route Ultra and the Khardung La Challenge is Main Market, Leh town. We ask all participants to respect the finish line area and ensure that celebrations do not interfere with other participants’ finish line experience. Participants who complete their respective races within the official cut-off time will get a finisher medal.

The winners of ultra races, Silk Route Ultra and Khardung La Challenge, are felicitated on Friday, September 11, 2026 at the finish line Leh Main market.

The winners of Marathon, Half Marathon and 11.2Km Run are felicitated on Sunday, September 14, 2026 during the award ceremony which will start around 11 a.m. at N.D.S. Memorial Stadium grounds.
